Photoshop 2 + Firefly

This Photoshop 2 + Firefly class class goes more in depth with Photoshop for those working in Film, TV, and related industries. Techniques such as masking, understanding alpha channels, color correction/grading will be covered. Photo retouching and restoration techniques are ever changing, especially with the introduction of AI. We will cover some of the latest uses in this field.

The use of Adobe’s Firefly Gen AI tool will be explored in detail, showing how Firefly can use Generative Fill to add elements that blend seamlessly into projects, generate new art with Text to Image, and apply artistic styles to existing projects. Adobe’s AI engine also is supported by many onboard tools, such as the Remove Tool, Subject Selection, Neural Filters, and others.

We will also dive into Adobe Camera Raw (both the filter and the stand alone module), as it also features many AI supported features. Lightroom users will be familiar with ACR in its Develop module, but we will specifically utilize ACR from Photoshop or Bridge.

Prerequisite: Completion of Photoshop 1 or a working knowledge of Photoshop. Adobe Photoshop must be loaded onto your computer and it is highly advised that you have a recent vintage Mac or PC with at least 8 GB RAM. A large screen monitor is advised for working in Photoshop and two monitors is even better! A 3-button mouse and full keyboard is essential to have if you are on a laptop.
