AI for Art Direction

WEDNESDAYS 6:15 – 10:00pm

5/6/26 to 6/24/26

This 8-week intensive workshop introduces creative professionals to the emerging world of AI-driven art direction. Using Weavy.ai and Vizcom.ai alongside traditional creative tools such as the Adobe and Substance Suites, Blender, Maya, Unreal Engine, etc., participants will explore how AI can accelerate ideation, concept illustration and pre-production across multiple creative industries.

Each session combines lecture-demonstrations, studio-based projects, and guided discussions centered on real-world creative pipelines—from film and game development to product design, fashion, and experiential marketing. Students will learn to translate ideas into visuals using AI-generated concept imagery and traditional creative workflows that curate and refine the AI output.

The course culminates in a final professional pitch deck, where participants apply AI-assisted workflows to an industry of their choice, developing a cohesive concept presentation that reflects contemporary art direction practice.

You’ll learn how AI can be an essential tool for art direction and you will be able to:

  • Integrate AI tools such as Weavy.ai and Vizcom.ai into traditional art direction workflows across multiple creative industries
  • Translate ideas into visual concepts using AI-generated imagery and traditional creative techniques to curate and refine outputs.
  • Design and communicate a cohesive visual direction through pitch decks, mood boards, and presentation materials.
  • Apply AI-assisted workflows to diverse creative contexts, including film, game development, product design, fashion, and experiential branding.
  • Demonstrate professional-level art direction thinking through the creation of a final project that blends AI-driven ideation with traditional creative strategy.
