Funded Training - WIOA

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) is landmark legislation that is designed to strengthen and improve our nation’s public workforce system and help get Americans, including youth and those with significant barriers to employment, into high-quality jobs and careers and help employers hire and retain skilled workers.

Studio Arts provides 120 hours of short term and 240 hours of full term funded training through the State of California’s Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).  If you are out of work, have contacted the EDD (or a local Worksource Center) and have requested or have otherwise been referred to seek WIOA training, a Studio Arts course of up to 8 classes may be available at NO cost to you.  If you no longer receive UI or have never applied, you may still be eligible.

For more information about WIOA and its certificated skills training, please contact Studio Arts at grants@studioarts.com or your local WorkSource Center.

Eligibility requirements for WIOA training:

  • You have been dislocated from work, or your company has gone out of business
  • You are collecting unemployment benefits, or you have recently run out of UI
  • You are not collecting state disability payments
