Illustrator 1

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS AN ONLINE CLASS

Adobe Illustrator gives you new creative freedom that lets you realize your ideas quickly and powerfully. Tight integration with other software allows you to produce extraordinary graphics for print, video, the web, and mobile devices.

This course gives students a practical, working experience with the basics of Adobe Illustrator, as well as all the major features of the program.

The lessons are built around the concepts and practices of graphic design. We'll work with the drawing, design and organizational tools and methods of the program, as well as Typography, Image Trace and Live Paint, Gradient Mesh, 3D, Symbols and Perspective. We'll make clear the mysterious ways of Illustrator.

Prerequisite: This program is for Mac or PC. If using a laptop, it is recommended that you have a 2nd monitor, a full keyboard and a 3-button mouse (with scroll wheel) to more easily work with the software. It is also good to have a working knowledge of saving files on the computer and familiarity with other programs, such as Photoshop. Students are responsible for having their own copy of this software loaded on their machine.
