Virtual Art Department (VAD) Workshop

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS AN ONLINE CLASS
From location scouting to set extensions and photoreal assets, the Virtual Art Department (VAD) is a key component of the Virtual Production pipeline for film and TV.
This hands-on, one-day workshop walks through and demonstrates the various uses of game engines in a Virtual Art Department. For the purposes of this workshop, we will be featuring Epic Games' Unreal Engine as the example of creating a virtual set and will step through the process of managing photoreal assets such as sets and props for use in a Virtual Art Department (VAD.)
Discussed and demonstrated will be the key components of the creative decision making and review workflows necessary for virtual blocking, virtual pre-lighting, and virtual location scouting and how these work with practical assets both the virtual set in Unreal Engine and for use practicals (on-set) in LED Stage shooting environments.
This isn't just the future, but is quickly becoming the present method for all production!
