Sketch Club

Sketch Club

Sketch Club is a different kind of class where student can practice figure drawing, still life compositions and possibly animal drawing in a whole new way! The class will have either models for figure drawing or still life compositions each week while students get to sketch using traditional methods, digital 2D and 3D.

The class will provide an opportunity for students to better develop observational skills, improving knowledge of composition proportion, values, composition, anatomy and perspective. Students will render figures & still life compositions using traditional and/or digital 2D and 3D methods.

It will focus on quick 2D sketches at the beginning of each class for warm up and then work on a longer poses using 2D and/or 3D methods for a more in-depth study. The instructor will also give shortcut tips on how to quickly iterate in 3D using ZBrush.

The instructor will provide general rendering guidance for students and provide technical assistance in regards to the use of Photoshop or ZBrush. The class is mostly focused on giving students the opportunity to improve their rendering skills using alternative methods in a relaxed atmosphere. Students will be encouraged to get up and move around and use alternative methods to gain a better understanding as well as a different perspective on the subject matter.

Prerequisite: Basic knowledge of the computer. Some sketching, Photoshop and/or ZBrush experience recommended.
