This class aims to give you a thorough understanding of the core fundamental principles that make a character's design or a cast of characters' designs successful.
We will also explore the many different techniques and/or processes for achieving professional looking designs that fit the narrative structures found in blockbuster films, next-gen video games, high-production television series, and feature animations.
Some of the topics covered in this class will be dissecting common archetypes like the hero-villain relationship as well as the design of different looks or costumes and motifs for our character as it relates to the story or concept. Digital drawing and painting techniques covered will focus on building a strong, distinct shape and base and also pose for our characters.
This class is not only geared for the aspiring character designer but also the seasoned professional looking to expand their workflow.
